Listing Wizard Controls & Validation

How Back, Continue, step tabs, progress, required marks, description rules, checkbox groups, domain checking and form recovery behave.

The listing form is a controlled multi-step wizard. Understanding its navigation and validation prevents most “Continue does not work” problems.

Progress

The top progress area shows Step X of 5. Only completed/unlocked steps can be opened ahead of the current step.

Back and Continue

  • Back returns to the previous step without submitting the listing.
  • Continue validates the current step. If something is missing, the wizard stays on that step and focuses the relevant control.
  • The final step replaces Continue with Submit For Review or Update & Submit For Review when editing.

Required fields

Required controls receive a required marker in the interface. A required select/input/textarea must contain a valid value before Continue succeeds.

Short Description

Fields marked as the Short Description show a live character count. The wizard requires 150–2,000 characters.

Required checkbox groups

For standard websites, Traffic Sources and Included Assets each require at least one checked option. Software-product included-assets groups also require at least one choice.

Main image

Where the form includes a required main image, a new listing cannot move past the Media step until a main featured image is selected. Existing listings with a saved featured image do not need to upload the same image again.

Website domain check

After you type the website URL, Sitehix checks the normalized domain. If the business already exists, the field reports that it is already listed. If the live check cannot run, the form says it will check again during submission.

Step locking

Clicking a later step before completing the required earlier step shows a message asking you to finish the current step and use Continue.
